Beaufort Wind Scale

Beaufort number --> Effects --> Wind conditions
0   smoke rises vertically from chimneys calm, less than 1 km/h
1   smoke from chimneys is deflected light breeze from 1 to 5 km/h
2  moves a weather vane light breeze, from 6 to 11 km/h
3  makes a flag fly light breeze, from12 to 19 km/h
4  flutters papers and move small tree branches, moderate breeze, 20 to 28 km/h
5  creates waves on a lake and moves bushes breeze, from 29 to 38 km/h
6  makes an umbrella difficult to use and wind from 39 to 49 km/h moves large branches
7  walking becomes difficult wind,  from 50 to 61 km/h
8  breaks small branches wind from 62 to 74 km/h
9  lifts shingles on roofs, wind from 75 to 88 km/h
10 uproots trees and causes property damage, wind from 89 to 102 km/h
11 storm causing heavy damage, wind from 103 to 118 km/h very rare conditions
12 hurricane causing devastation, wind from 119 to 220 km/h

Fujita or F-Scale of Tornado Strength

F-scale Wind speed (km/h) --> Damage
F0 64 to 116 km/h -  little damage
F1 117 to 180 km/h -  moderate damage
F2 181 to 253 km/h -  considerable damage
F3 254 to 331 km/h -  severe damage
F4 332 to 418 km/h -  site devastated
F5 419 to 512 km/h  - unbelievable damage!
